Our Story
The Golden Way Farm is a 6-acre agroforest in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada, located on the traditional lands of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc Peoples and the home of the Métis Nation Columbia River Society.
We grow climate-appropriate perennial polycultures, dominated by nuts and berries, using regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices.
2023 Progress Update:
In June 2023 we completed significant earthworks including the installation of four (4) terraces, which allows us to begin developing garden beds and planning permanent orchards. All planting to date has been completed without irrigation, on the edges of and within existing forest stands.
We are dreaming and scheming and excited for what the future holds for Golden Way Farm! What are we working on during the fall and winter 2023?
continue to fire-safe our wood lots,
selectively clear understories to create space for shade-tolerant varieties,
build compost and garden beds,
expand nitrogen-fixing cover crops to protect and nourish exposed soil, and
propagation for our first true planting year in 2024!
